Breakfast is a key component of weight management

The Only Ab Exercise You Need!

7/27/2011

Losing weight great! Toned legs fantastic! Developed arms terrific! But a six pick simply awesome!

Why are we so fixated on six packs, on shredded cores and defined torsos, on the lean and gorgeous P90X, RevAbs or Hip Hop Abs workout programs.

Having core is critical to our health and athletic potential, there is no need to obsess with revealing those muscles, with reducing our bodies to less than 10% body fat so that they can be seen with such definition. I recently did a Shakeology cleanse to lose some of the lose handles.

By the way if your baby is walking and talking that is not baby fat on you. That is just fat. And you can do something to get rid of the rolls.

To get started on your road to getting rid of the rolls try this fundamental ab/core exercise.

The plank is the best all around ab/core workout. This is how you do it: get into push-up position, and then lower yourself so that you are resting your weight on your forearms, palms down, upper arms perpendicular with the ground. Look at the ground, and make sure to keep your hips in line with your body, neither raising them too high so that you form  a pyramid, or letting them sag toward the ground. You then hold this position for as long as you can, trying for a full minute, and do it three times, aiming to do three full minutes total.

You can also do the side plank, where you turn your body onto its side, forming a triangle between your body, and arm and the ground. Keep you hips in line with your body so that it forms a straight line from you head to your feet, and if your balance is good you should extend your arm directly overhead, pointing at the ceiling.

The plank is the best because it works out your entire core, from the abdominal wall to the obliques to your back. When it come to picking just one exercise for your abs outside of RevAbs, this is the best.

I would like to thank the awesome Extreme Fitness Team Powered by Team Beachbody for the great information.

How the RevAbs® Core Crew combats the most tempting food obstacles part 2

We’ve all been there . . . in situations where carb- and sugar-filled foods are abundant and whispering your name ever so sweetly. But you’re committed to your RevAbs program, and you know that if you want to lose the love handles, you need to make good choices. Find out how the RevAbs Core Crew stays committed to healthy eating habits even in the most tempting food-related social situations.

Check out the tips below, and watch the video.

Avoiding cocktails in bars
“When friends invite me to bars or restaurants and I want to still be social and order something, I just order sparkling mineral water. With the bubbles and lime, it still feels festive and sort of like a cocktail.”
—Jessica B.

Eating healthily at restaurant birthday dinners
“For my best friend’s birthday dinner, I ordered grilled fish and subbed a green vegetable for the risotto. I also brought my healthy crackers so I’d have something to eat when everyone else was eating their cakes and pies.”
—Shawn R.

Fighting temptation
“What helps me stick to the RevAbs plan when faced with temptation is pausing and asking myself, ‘Is it worth it?’ When my roommate baked cookies and our apartment smelled amazing, when my friends toasted me for my birthday, and when I sat at a Superbowl party in front of an amazing spread of pizza and chips, I asked myself if it was worth the work I still have to put in, worth the feeling of pain I have felt so many times on that final rep, and worth the guilt I’ll feel by breaking my promise to commit. At the end I want to stand there and know that my results are worth it.”
—Michelle D.

Staying full and satisfying the sweet tooth
“If I get a horrible craving, I try to drink water or fill up on herbal tea. I also make sure I have my midafternoon snacks on me. Sometimes I mix some Shakeology in a cup and have it for dessert after dinner. Or I’ll mix a mini-teaspoon of stevia and cinnamon for a sweet fix after the meal.”
—Kristelle M.

Bringing your own food to parties and sporting events
“When I bring my own food to parties, I use the same plates that others are eating off of so I feel like I fit in. Sometimes I’ll replace my salad with the salad they’re serving at a party, but use lemon or a smaller portion of dressing to avoid the high calories.”
—Jeanette C.

“With events like the college football final game, the almighty Superbowl, and Lakers games, there seems to always be a reason to drink and eat unhealthy foods like pizza, hot wings, and potato chips with dip. I’ve gone to all these events, and let me tell you, I’ve shown up with my own bag of healthy food every single time. My friends look at me as if I brought them goodies and want to try my food, but I tell them they’re my meals. I feel great about my results, my discipline, and my new eating habits.”
—Jose C.

Setting up your space
“I have a photo of my ideal perfect abs and take a weekly picture and resave it as my screensaver next to the goal picture so I’m constantly comparing it. I set up my water, Shakeology, and vitamins in their places on my desk. My daily workout calendar stares at me, and my photo with my inspiration line, “Fight like a warrior,” is right in front of me all day. All of this is a constant reminder not to cheat. I see what I really want and remind myself not to sabotage my results.”
—Bryan C.

Being a role model
“If you care about your friends and family, don’t let their bad habits sway you. By sticking to your routine, they’ll see your dedication and be encouraged by your results to want to make changes too.”
—Bryan C. [Same as above]

How to fight tempting foods during healthy meal plan!

This week in the office I had several people ask about my meal plan. They noticed the shakes, fruit, salads and meals. I really received a lot of questions when I returned to the office after a lunch work out. I had on my tank top and dress pants ( 30 minute workout, shower and Shakeology).   You can workout all you want. But without the proper nutrition meal, coach and work out plan you will not get the results you want. PERIOD!

Pictures after first week of new meal plan. The love handles are melting away. 3/18/2011

Why most doctors don't drink milk! Part 1

Milk and milk by-products are leading contributors to the $2 trillion sickness industry - milk causes allergies, gas constipation, obesity , cancer, heart disease, infectious diseases and osteoporosis.

Yes, milk causes osteoporosis, despite the massive deceptive advertising campaign by the ADA stating that milk prevents osteoporosis.

Several studies have concluded that drinking milk is more likely to cause than prevent osteoporosis, which is the result of calcium intake, because the amount and type of protein (casein) in milk results in a great loss of calcium in the bones. For those who believe that taking calcium as an adult will help them have strong bone, calcium contained naturally in vegetables is much healthier, easier to absorb, and more abundant. A cup of the Latest Tropicana calcium -enriched orange juice contains more calcium then fortified milk - 350 milligrams versus 302 milligrams in a cup of milk. Moreover, whatever benefit calcium intake may have in avoiding osteoporosis probably stops in adulthood when bone mass stops increasing - despite the fact that ADA milk advertising is targeted toward toward adults and older Americans.

The worst thing about dairy products is not the disease they cause, the torture for the animals involved, or the terrible impact on the environment - the worst thing about dairy products is that the major cause of more than 65 percent of our population being overweight and obese.

But of far more concern than contributing to osteoporosis, milk contains hormones and carries infectious diseases. A typical cow in nature can produce up to 10 pounds of  milk per day, whereas today's tortured modern cow produce up to 100 pounds of milk per days. This is because cows today are given massive amounts of specialized horomones like bovine growth hormone (BGH) to increase milk production - making their udders so large they often drag on the ground. This results in frequent infections and the need for constant antibiotics - the USDA allows drinking milk to contain from 1 to 1.5 million white blood cells (that's pus to a nonbiologist) per milliliter. These growth hormones, antibiotics , and pus remaining in the milk after processing, which causes dire medical consequences for people, especially children, who consume dairy products.

From The Wellness Revolution by Paul Zane Pilzer

Ask your doctor if they drink milk. Next blog relating to milk "Why young girls seem to physically mature quicker and the harmful results of hormone enriched milk."

As a side note I personally don't drink milk anymore. I started drinking Soy and Almond  milk with my protein shakes. And now that's all I drink. Almond is my favorite for the low fat and great calcium content.

How to lose 7 to 10 pounds with 3 day cleanse. Part 1

If you want a smaller waist and flat , tight abs, its time to make a change. There's no reason to work out hard unless your going to eat right, and after a RevAbs workout , you'll want to eat right.

I'm going to  introduce you two programs to get pounds off quickly with meal plans to get you motivated. The first one is a three day cleanse (I'm starting Monday).

Cleansing is a regular part of good diet programs.I'm using Shakeology as a replacement for fasting formula.

The reason for the cleanse is not calorie restriction; it’s nutrient efficiency. The  goal is to get the most nutrient possible into the least amount  of calories. The aim is to put all of these calories to use as a part of your exercise program, rid your body of undigested foods and toxins. The result you’re after is not weight loss although you should lose between 7- 10 pounds within 3 days. This should make you feel lighter and more energetic, even though you’re doing an exercise program.

If you have any specific medical conditions and/or dietary concerns, please consult your physician or nutritionist before commencing this or any other meal plan.
.

How getting fit got him his dream job!

I think eveyone has that favorite outfit they want to get in shape to wear. I had a blue suit in the back of my closet because the pants were tight around the waist. Yesterday I tried them on and wore them with room to spare. I can say with less then two weeks using RevAbs I'm seeing the results around my waist. Come join me in a live free workout with the Fayetteville Fit Club or  join my online buddy list and use the workout and meal plan from home.

Room to spare.

Don't have to button jacket to hide the bulge.
